What Is EnOcean Wireless Automation?
The idea behind EnOcean's self-powered wireless automation technology is based on a simple observation: where sensors capture measured values, the energy state constantly changes. Radio switches and sensors based on EnOcean's wireless controls harvest ambient energy for their power supply, for example switches from the actuating force of being pressed, or sensors from light energy.
Energy Harvesting: Range and Reliability
This is accomplished through the so-called "energy harvesting" that generates energy levels of 50 microwatts, enough to transmit radio signals up to 300 metres in open space (30 metres inside buildings). EnOcean communicates via gateways with all available bus systems in the UAE, such as KNX or BACnet. Each transmitter present in the system has a unique address and communicates with a receiving unit. Despite the limited energy available, these highly efficient electronics can transmit the signal several times, guaranteeing high transmission reliability.
No-Drilling Installation for Renovations
A huge advantage of an EnOcean system is the ability to mount switches and sensors on walls or glass surfaces throughout the building without drilling any holes.
